Review
A brand new graphics and physics engine are the soul of this sequel that will offer us modern weaponry and vehicles, and massive multiplayer games.
Battlefield 1942 was an advance in multiplayer action games, allowing chaotic fights on land, sea and air with WWII as the background. Now, 60 years later, you can play as the United States of America, as China, or as a middle-east coalition. The gameplay is exactly the same of Battlefield 1942, but with new tactical options, statistic controls, medals and of course graphical improvements, among other stuff.
This is a very good game, better than it's predecessor, but with less originality, which can make the player think that he's almost playing the same game.
This is basically a multiplayer game, even when you can play it in single player mode (in which case, you will be fighting against bots without any story at all). I do not recommend this game mode if you actually can play it online.
However, this is an action game extremely fun for whoever likes this absolutely arcade style. We can get into several infantry units, land, water and air vehicles (which you can drive or go as copilot or gunman), without any realism at all. The designers never wanted to make a realistic game, but an easy to play and fun arcade, and I think they've achieved this. |
